Madeleine is a slightly off-center single mom of four. She's a freelance writer and a researcher for writers and novelists (including Jacquelyn Mitchard). She says she loves doing research because it enables her to accumulate a wealth of knowledge about a very wide variety of subjects -- "Just enough" she whispers, "to make people think I always know what I'm talking about."
