Local doctors join Putnam hospital — Putnam Hospital Center announced that Dr. E. Taylor Abel and surgical physician assistant Elizabeth Provanzana have joined its medical staff. Abel, of Verbank, is affiliated with eRiver Neurology of New York, specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. His postdoctoral training included an internship in internal medicine and a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Albany Medical Center, where he was chief resident. He received his medical degree from Albany Medical College. Provanzana, of Highland, is affiliated with Health Quest Medical Practice. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from St. Francis University. Provanzana is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and she is a member of the American Academy of Physicians Assistants.
