ORIGIN AND HISTORY
The name Suzanne is the French version of the name Susan or Susannah. The name originally stems from the Hebrew word 'shoshannah' which means 'lily'. The name is used in French, but has also been taken over as one of the English variants of the name group before the beginning of the 20th century. Suzanne is no longer the most popular of all of these forms in America, but it is still widely in use as a female given name.[1]
