ORIGIN AND HISTORY
Some believe Kendra is derived from the Welsh name Cynwrig, meaning "greatest champion" or "high summit." Alternate sources have been proposed, however, including the Gaelic name Mac Eanraig (son of Henry) as well as the Old English names Cyneric ("kingly power") and Ceneric (keen power). Another possibility is that the name Kendra is not related to these male names at all but instead is simply a blending of the male name Kenneth and the female name Sandra.[1]
