ORIGIN & HISTORY

Is of English and Scottish decent. The name is most common as a surname, but started being used as a first name after our seventh President of the United States, Andrew Jackson, took office. Another famous man in our United States' history is "Stonewall" Jackson. "Stonewall", or Thomas Jonathan Jackson, was a prominent leader in the Civil War on the Confederate side.
