In both the Hebrew Bible and Old Testament, the "Book of Daniel" tells of the Israeli Daniel, who prophesied and told his interpretations of royal dreams as the advisor to Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar.

- "Daniel" is a song composed and recorded by Elton John, with lyrics by Bernie Taupin. It is a fictional story about a blinded Vietnam veteran who flies off to Spain after returning home from the war, to escape the tribulations of dealing with the American public. The vet's younger brother tells the story.
