HISTORY
Allstate Auto Insurance was founded in 1931 as part of Sears, Roebuck & Co.. It became a publicly traded company in 1993, and at the time, the initial public offering of Allstate was the largest in U.S. history. It became a totally independent company after Sears divested its remaining shares to its stockholders in 1995.[1]
SIGNIFICANT FACTS
- Allstate's company slogan is "You're in good hands." Their current advertising campaign, in use since 2004, says instead, "Are you in good hands?"[1]
- When company celebrated its 75th year in 2006, over 17 million American households owned at least one of its products. [1]
