A Past and Present Collision
From WikiName
As a writer, words, and the stories they tell have always held a special meaning for me; names even more so. All but one name though, my own. That was until I heard all of the stories, about how my name came into being.
My first name, Jake, came from my great-grandfather, whom from what I have heard was an incredibly hard working man with an exceptional threshold for pain. The one story of which I have the greatest recollection was when he sliced his leg open to the bone, and bothered going to the hospital. My middle name, Charles, come from my grandfather, who was a golden-gloves champ in the army. In order to support his starving siblings, He dropped out of school, and began working, at the age of fifteen.
At times, I still feel, that my name is a little dull. But when I remember the people, whom I was named after, I take solace in the fact, that my name came from strong men, who were of high-moral character.
