HISTORY
During 7 up's early days it contained a well known mood stabilizing drug known as lithium citrate. Throughout the years the soda's formula has been revised. In the 1980's the Seven Up Company merged with Dr. Pepper. It's latest soda revision was in 2006. Although the start of this popular soda is well known no one knows much about where the name comes from. There are several mysteries ranging from Mr. Grigg saw cattle being branded with the number 7 and letter "u" to it was named after a card game. There are also some who believe that the lemon-lime flavored soda was named because of the seven ingredients that were once located on the can. The name 7 up has remained a mystery.
